My yoga practice began in 2004. What started out as an exercise regimen soon became a way of life.  After taking my first few yoga classes, my body felt energized and relaxed, my mind was clear and peaceful. I soon learned that yoga is truly an exercise for the body, mind and soul.

Yoga has taught me to find and cultivate peace. It has taught me how to love and accept myself.

As a cancer sign I have always been drawn to the water. In 2013 after I graduated my 200 hour yoga teacher training in Austin I purchased a SUP board for personal yoga practice. I lived on Lady Bird Lake with a canoe, kayak and SUP board and found myself on the water daily. My yoga teaching practice focused on studio classes for the first few years but I am now thrilled to be taking my yoga teaching to the water.

I was introduced to meditation as a kid and have been teaching meditation as long as I have been teaching yoga.

Join me for a "calm" yoga class on the water to connect to yourself in a beautiful environment or for our monthly full moon meditations.

I became interested in yoga as a way to escape the craziness and stress of graduate school life back in 2012. A very close friend inspired me to begin a yoga practice once I saw how much it benefitted her and kept her calm. This was a time when all cards were on the table and I had no clue where in the world I would end up after graduation (spoiler: I ended up in TEXAS). At this time, yoga offered me all that I needed. I could feel the stress and the incoherent babbling of thoughts melting away with each class.

Yoga gave me something that I could feel in control of during a time where I felt I had very little control in my life.

Fast forward to present: I have been teaching regular studio classes every week now since July 2015, and practice at home nearly every day. Over the years, yoga has led me to so many incredible people, places, and more. Then I found out about practicing yoga on a paddle board and there was no keeping me away!

I am definitely a water creature, and feel most relaxed when I am around the water.

I am so excited to take my teaching to the lake, share it with everyone, and have some FUN!!

I first came to yoga as an injury rehabilitation and flexibility maintenance program. After 18 years of gymnastics I had abused my body in the name of competition.

Within minutes of my first yoga class starting I knew I had found something that had been missing in my life.

I spent the next 6 years practicing several times a week and seeing my body in a new light and more depth.

When my husband joined the Marine Corps and we moved to California I had the opportunity to pursue my passion for yoga and embark on my teaching journey in 2011.

I started it as a way to strengthen my own practice but quickly found my desire to help others reawaken a love for their bodies drove me toward an unexpected career path.

Being an adventure seeker, I found myself delving into every avenue of yoga I could find. I found SUP yoga in 2013 jumping in with both feet as my first time on a board was my teacher training.

Upon moving to Fort Worth in 2014 I was disappointed to find little opportunity available in the area to practice SUP yoga. This is when Just Be Well Yoga was born. Out of a desire to build a SAFE community of trained instructors and students who were excited to challenge themselves in a new avenue of yoga.

Yoga has been influencing my body, mind and spirit since I was 16. My journey began when my neighbor and longtime family friend opened the first hot yoga studio in Minnesota. As a competitive soccer player I broke my ankle and over the next 10 years had three reconstructive surgeries. I found yoga to help me with the recovery process, especially with balance. Originally I used yoga as a rehabilitation and fitness regimen. When my professional career took off yoga became my salvation. It has brought balance to my life and I finally feel I have found a place of lightness.

My daily mat practice allows me to find freedom and relaxation.

Because yoga is one of the brightest parts of my daily life, I have been motivated to share with others what I have found. I am dedicated to continuing education & offering the bets yoga class I can.

SUP yoga is the most relaxing thing I have ever done. I grew up on the water and mixing water and yoga was a no brainier.

When I first started paddling 6 years ago Stand Up Paddle Boarding was in the pioneering stages. Little did I know how popular it was going to become. I love teaching paddle board yoga because it allows freedom and fluidity that the solid ground doesn't always allow. In Texas where it is warm almost all year round I am always paddling and yogaing. What better thing to do then flip your dog into the water on a hot Texas day?

I love yoga because it helps me conquer my fears and makes me stronger in facing all that life brings. I have made a conscious effort to smile more when practicing and teaching. I find that it helps to share the lightness and positive energy that the practice brings.  My goal is to help others find the empowerment and lightness that yoga can bring into their lives.

I first found yoga about eight years ago when I began looking for an exercise replacement for running that was causing aches and pains constantly. I traded in my running shoes for a yoga mat and that decision was one of the best investments I have ever made.

Initially it was just an exercise but over the years I began to receive so much more from the practice of yoga. I really just grew to love it. Yoga gave me balance and helped me learn how to relax, and let go. It helped me bring these practices to other parts of my everyday life. In the last few years I decided I wanted to share my love of yoga with others. I was so inspired by the many gifts it gives us and I also have fewer aches and pains now!

Then I found the paddleboard. Whether lying on the board in a lake or an ocean I found a little piece of heaven on earth. ~ Namaste.

Artist, biker, and runner summed me up for many years. I began to notice a need to stretch out some of my aches and pains and looked into yoga. Quickly (as many do)

I began to notice that not only did it help my physical body, but the transformation and joy that it brought to my mind was overwhelming.

I began my practice in Chicago and then onto California, where I tried many different variations. Moving to New York my practice only continued to develop and strengthen. Once in Dallas, I found Dallas Yoga Center where I was able to receive my 200 Hour Yoga certification. Shortly after I found and completed Just Be Well Yoga’s 25 Hour SUP Yoga training.

Water has always been a fear of mine. With the start of the New Year I decided to not be held back by fear anymore, but instead to face it head first.

The joy it brings to be set free from the land and onto the water is magical. I am excited to set afloat with not only the sea baby’s, but also the terrified curious creatures and give all the freedom to float and move through the world.

enjoy the Dallas waterways with Tory!
